Direct cooling air for the front brakes

The PUIG brake cooler for the YAMAHA YZF-R1 from 2015 was developed for the high demands of sporty driving. During strong and continuous braking maneuvers, the system directs the airflow specifically to the brake pads and brake discs to counteract excessive heating.

Controlled air flow

Two channels absorb the incoming air, compress and accelerate it and lead it directly to the front brake components. In race track tests, an average reduction in brake temperature of ten degrees was achieved. This supports braking performance and a constant braking feel under heavy loads.

Material and design

Designed and manufactured in Barcelona, the brake cooler consists of two high-quality ABS plastic covers, each for a brake disc and caliper unit. Stable, lightweight aluminum holders with a textured black surface are used for attachment.
