Malossi H20 I-Tech cylinder set with Ø 63 mm

The H20 I-Tech cylinder set from Malossi is designed for the Vespa GTS 125 I-GET Touring from 2020. With a bore of Ø 63 mm, 58.7 mm stroke and 183 cm³ displacement, it offers clearly defined dimensions for the targeted construction of the engine. The compression ratio is 11.48.

The cylinder is made of a primary aluminum alloy with a high content of hardened and tempered silicon. The cylinder liner has a silicon carbide coating in a galvanic nickel die. A crossed smoothing with two diamond passes and very limited tolerances refines the tread. Machining is carried out on machine tools with high-precision numerical control. Newly calculated and improved heat exchange surfaces support the thermal design.

Pistons and piston rings

The ultra-compact, lightweight and reinforced piston features three rings. Its special aluminum alloy with a high silicon content is designed for low thermal expansion. The sliding surfaces have a tin coating. The piston is also machined on numerically controlled machine tools and has improved heat exchange surfaces.

• I° Ring: Compression ring made of nitrided and chrome-plated steel
• II° ring: special cast iron
• Wiper ring: three-piece, made of special chrome-plated steel alloy

The special rings combine a high level of sliding simplicity with very high mechanical resistance.
