The forged VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston was developed for use in performance-oriented engines. Its design combines an aluminum piston with racing-oriented piston compression and design details aimed at efficient and reliable engine operation.

Well thought-out piston design

The shape and design of the piston crown supports a favorable flame front and enables design for the maximum permissible compression ratio. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load. A surface treatment serves to reduce friction.

The short piston pin has a chamfer with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. The locking ring with a nose on the outside counteracts twisting at high speeds. The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel increases wear resistance.
