VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged pistons for GasGas MC 450 F

The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed as a forged aluminum piston with racing compression. Vertex developed the Racer's Choice piston range using a test bench from the MX World Championship environment. The design and shape of the piston crown have been tailored to improve the flame front and achieve the maximum permissible compression ratio.

Functional design features

• A surface treatment reduces friction.
• Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load.
• The short piston pin has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating.
• The locking ring with a nose on the outside counteracts twisting at high speeds.
• The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel increases wear resistance.
