The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed for the GAS GAS MC 250 F from 2021-2023. Its forged aluminum construction and racing piston compression combine a racing-oriented design with precisely coordinated details.

Function and construction

The shape of the piston crown was designed to optimize the flame front and achieve the maximum allowable compression ratio. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load. A surface treatment serves to reduce friction.

The short piston pin has a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. The locking ring with an outward-facing nose counteracts twisting at high speeds. The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel supports increased wear resistance.
