VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged pistons for GAS GAS MC 250 F

The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed for use in the GAS GAS MC 250 F from the 2021-2023 model year range. As a forged aluminum version with racing piston compression, it combines a construction designed for competition with carefully crafted details.

Function and construction

The shape and design of the piston crown supports a favorable flame front and is designed to achieve the maximum permissible compression ratio. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load. A surface treatment serves to reduce friction.

The short piston pin has a chamfer with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. The locking ring with a nose on the outside counteracts twisting at high speeds. The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel is designed for increased wear resistance.
