Comprehensive care for canvas, leather and split leather

This maintenance kit contains coordinated products and tools for regularly cleaning, conditioning and waterproofing accessories, bags and jackets made of canvas, smooth leather or split leather. Always follow the instructions for the relevant care product before use.

Care kit contents

• Cotton bag with Unit Garage logo
• Waterproofing spray
• Block of solid wax
• Tube of black or brown color cream, 50 ml
• Soft cleaning brush with wooden handle
• Brush with brass bristles and wooden handle for split leather
• Cleaning disc for removing glue and sticky residue, 100 × 60 mm and 8 mm thick
• Microfiber cloth

Waterproofing

Clean the item with warm, clean water if necessary. The spray can be used on damp or dry material. Shake the bottle and spray the product evenly from a distance of 10 to 15 cm. Wiping it afterward with a clean, damp cloth improves performance and reduces excess product. Allow to dry for 12 hours for optimal results.

Wax treatment

With regular use, resealing is recommended at least once a year. Before treatment, remove dirt and sand and clean the material with a sponge and cold water. Do not use soap or detergents. Gently warm the item to be treated in a warm room, in the sun or near a heat source. Work the wax in sparingly with a soft cloth or sponge, paying particular attention to seams and creases. For an even finish, the material can then be warmed with a hair dryer and hung in a warm place overnight.

Color cream and specialized cleaning

The black or brown color cream is used to cover scratches and scuffs on smooth leather. It must not be used on split leather. First clean the area, massage in the cream with a sponge, allow it to dry for 15 minutes and then polish with a soft cloth.

The brush with brass bristles is intended for split leather. The cleaning disc removes glue and sticky materials: move it over the affected area with light pressure and then clean the area again with a soft cloth.
