MALOSSI H20 I-Tech cylinder set with Ø 63 mm

The H20 I-Tech cylinder set from MALOSSI is designed for the Piaggio Medley 125 IE ABS (MA 01) built between 2016 and 2018. With a cylinder bore of Ø 63 mm, 58.7 mm stroke and 183 cm³ displacement, it offers clearly defined dimensions for the intended engine structure.

The cylinder is made of a primary aluminum alloy with a high content of hardened and tempered silicon. The cylinder liner has a silicon carbide coating in a galvanic nickel die. Their surface is finished by cross-smoothing with two diamond passes and very limited tolerances. Production takes place on machine tools with high-precision numerical control. Newly calculated and improved heat exchange surfaces complement the design.

Pistons and piston rings

The ultra-compact, lightweight and reinforced piston is designed with three rings. It consists of a special aluminum alloy with a high silicon content, low thermal expansion and a tin coating on the sliding surfaces. The piston is also machined on numerically controlled machine tools and has improved heat exchange surfaces.

• First ring: compression ring made of nitrided and chrome-plated steel
• Second ring: special cast iron
• Wiper ring: three-piece design made of special chrome-plated steel alloy

The special rings are designed for high sliding properties and very high mechanical resistance.
