The MALOSSI aluminum cylinder with 63 mm bore and 14 mm pin is designed for the Piaggio Liberty 150 Sport E 3 (M 387) from 2008. As a 4-stroke cylinder, it is tailored to the technical design of this engine and is aimed at racing applications at designated venues.

The cylinder liner has a silicon carbide coating in electroplated nickel form and crossed smoothing with two diamond passes. Production takes place on numerically controlled machine tools. Cylinder and piston are matched to each other with a tolerance of 0.05 mm. Revised heat exchange surfaces support the thermal design.

Pistons and rings

The ultra-compact piston is made of a special aluminum alloy with a high silicon content, low thermal expansion and tin coating on the sliding surfaces. It is weight-reduced and reinforced. The structure includes three rings: a nitrided and chrome-plated I-ring, a special cast ring and a three-part wiper ring made of special chrome-plated steel alloy.
