PUIG Downforce Sport Side Spoilers for the BMW S1000RR

Racing-inspired aerodynamics for the BMW S1000RR from model year 2019 onward: The PUIG side-spoiler set gives the motorcycle a distinctive sportbike look and generates aerodynamic downforce at the front. Its development is based on the Kawasaki Racing Team's experience and testing in WorldSBK.

Racing-Derived Aerodynamics

The side winglets channel airflow through the component in a controlled manner. The resulting downforce supports stability at high speeds, makes rapid changes of direction easier and reduces the risk of the so-called shimmy effect when front-wheel traction decreases.

Under hard acceleration, the generated downforce can also counteract front-wheel lift. This spoiler concept is stated to produce up to 6 kg of downward force at the front axle; specific results depend on the motorcycle model.

Sporty Design with Functional Performance

With these Downforce Sport spoilers, PUIG combines aggressive, racing-inspired lines with aerodynamic functionality. This allows the appearance of the S1000RR to be individually enhanced, while the spoilers are also designed to provide greater stability and more controlled changes of direction at high speeds.
