MALOSSI gear set Z 55/40/37/36 for Vespa

The MALOSSI gear set is designed for the Vespa PX E Lusso 150 in the 1981-1997 model year range. With the tooth numbers Z 55, Z 40, Z 37 and Z 36, the set enables a variable gear ratio compared to the original design and thus supports targeted adaptation of the four gears.

Execution and function

The gears are made of specially hardened steel. They are manufactured on CNC hobbing machines; the contact surfaces are then ground. Small depressions on the contact surfaces promote the transport of oil between the gears and improve the lubrication of the sliding surfaces.

• Relief holes on the suitable wheels

There were no relief holes in the area of the contact surface between the gear and the gear selector lever so as not to cause any breakage. The design of the number of teeth is aimed at an optimized gear ratio.
